An environmental engineering agency in the region has received the go-ahead for a major order with an American truck manufacturer.
GT Group will supply a range of water tankers and fuel and lube trucks to Ground Force, with the products earmarked for export to the Russian and European markets.
The equipment will be produced by the Caterpillar facility in Peterlee in a deal which will help GT Grow significantly over the next five years.
Ron Nilson, Ground Force Chief Executive Officer, said: “It was a very easy decision to award the work to GT Group above other companies.
“Usually businesses have to raise the bar to meet Caterpillar’s exacting standards, but GT Group has already done that so it made sense for them to supply us.”
The deal will also involve basing a sales and marketing team of up to four people at GT’s Peterlee premises to enable it to capitalize on emerging opportunities abroad.
