2017-05-09T09:04:30-07:00September 30th, 2016|Company News|

MINExpo 2016 was an unprecedented success for the Ground Force Worldwide team! Hundreds of vendors and thousands of attendees from around the world packed the Las Vegas Convention Center for three full days to see the mining industry’s most innovative products and technological marvels. With 5,000 square feet of booth space, strategically positioned between the impressive Caterpillar and Komatsu booths, was the Ground Force team and four trucks from our core product line: an Articulated Enclosed Fuel & Lube Truck, the new 18-ton Underground Haul Truck, an 8,000-gallon Articulated Water Truck, and the M series Underground Motor Grader (Tier 4). We sold trucks right off the floor, an accomplishment almost unheard of at a show of this magnitude! Whether reconnecting with some familiar faces or introducing our company to new ones, our team gained an even better understanding of the needs of our customers and their mining operations. Our team made a huge impact on all who visited

320-tons of Breast Cancer Awareness

2021-02-26T17:11:36-08:00May 9th, 2016|Company News|

Cancer has touched all of our lives at some level. My wonderful, wacky German grandmother passed away years ago from what began as breast cancer and eventually spread throughout her entire body. What I remember the most is that, no matter what, she never gave up the fight. Thankfully, as a result of the progress we have made in cancer research, our cancer survivor numbers are growing and we are celebrating their victories every chance we get. Normally, we here at Ground Force are focused on designing, welding, assembling, and all of the things we do to create of our “larger than life” mine support equipment. But today, we are celebrating breast cancer survivors, and in a big way. We are currently completing an order for three 320-ton pink dump bodies, designed to fit the Komatsu 930E truck. Weighing in at just under 60,000 lbs., they are extremely light comparatively to other dump bodies in their class. Their

Where are all the Diesel Mechanics?

2021-03-24T18:05:09-07:00March 31st, 2016|Blog|

Employment of diesel service technicians and mechanics is projected to grow by 12% from 2014 to 2024. Who will fill these positions? With the majority of our children aiming to earn Bachelor’s degrees in unrelated fields of study, who will be left to roll up their sleeves and turn wrenches? With the growing demand and better-than-average salaries of $50-65K plus, why aren't we seeing more kids flock to this field? Diesel mechanics have the opportunity to travel all over the world, meet a variety of people and experience new and interesting cultures. The skills individuals accrue as diesel mechanics apply to many aspects of life, making these professionals valuable assets, not only to their companies, but at home and within their communities. This career choice deserves more glory than it often receives, and should be held in higher regard in our education system. There are many career avenues for this specialized field, from mining and construction to wholesale distribution as

2021-03-25T20:00:57-07:00March 14th, 2016|Company News|

Recently, Ground Force was awarded "Business of the Year", presented by Kootenai Fire & Rescue. In 2015, Ground Force Worldwide donated a 13,000 gallon water tank body to the Kootenai County Fire and Rescue (KCFR) and placed the tank at their training center located on East Seltice Way in Post Falls. This tank will be used for confined space training in conjunction with their current facility for training new and current members of the agency. KCFR will see great benefits from this new training asset as it will increase awareness and offer a new aspect of confined space training for KCFR. As a partner, Ground Force Worldwide has been participating in confined space training at KCFR utilizing this new tank. We are grateful to have this opportunity to make a donation that makes such an incredible difference in our community and KCFR is appreciative of this substantial donation. Celebrating 15 years of Ground Force articulated fuel & lube trucks

2021-02-26T17:31:08-08:00January 12th, 2016|Company News, Press Release|

Ground Force has been building fuel & lube trucks for nearly 30 years with the first fuel & lube trucks designed for conventional chassis’ back in 1987. Rigid Frame fuel & lube trucks followed in 1995, and the demand for yet another chassis option became prevalent in ‘98. Soft underfoot mining conditions, high maintenance and repairs on conventional units, desire for “more wheels on the ground” (safety), chassis availability and the desire for increase payload took us to the articulated chassis. The first articulated fuel & lube truck was built in 2001 on a used Cat D400E. The 1st 700 series truck soon followed in 2001 designed for a new Cat 725. These trucks were designed to carry diesel fuel and multiple oils and coolants. Seeing the need for a longer frame to increase safety, Ground Force introduced the frame stretch in 2001. Soon after, Caterpillar started building a long wheel base chassis, offering the longer frame on new
